RPP (Remy Paul Precontrainte) was created in 1976 by Henri Remy in order to become the official agent for France of the German company PAUL MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH, the world leader for prestressing equipment. The small trading company will have a prompt development, and will impose PAUL products in the majority of French precasting factories, as well as on most post-tensioning job sites.

11 years later, in 1987, Henri and Jean Baptiste Remy will create a second company, named 3R (Research and Realisations Remy), which activity was concentrated in the design and production of an automatic unwinding machine for prestressing wire or strand, both for use in precasting factories, or on post-tensioning job sites. RPP employs 4 persons, and 3R only 2.

As from the very beginning of its existence, 3R is questioned by his customers to develop a small flexural testing machine for concrete infillor blocks. This machine, produced at more than 100 pieces, will be the first one of a very long range of laboratory testing machine, from the tiny 8 kN flexural machine for 4x4x16 prisms, to the colossal 5000 kN compression machine.

In 1991, the 2 companies move to Montauban’s industrial estate, in some 2000 sqm facilities. 3R and RPP together employ 11 persons, and the business of both companies is turning around 2 main activities, sometimes completing each other : prestressing equipment (automatic unwinding machine, strand pusher, declamping tool and so on), and laboratory equipment (compression and flexural testing machine, automatic power packs and so on).

In 1994, 3R will become the official agent for France of SCHNELL, one of the world leader of reinforcement equipment, specialized in servo-motor driven machines.

2001 will see the building of a new production hall (1400 sqm equipped with 2 x 12 tons cranes and a modern painting chamber), and 500 sqm new offices.

2003 will see for 3R the launching of the patented ”TwinMatic“ specimen grinding machine, which will make 3R the real specialist of automatic specimen grinding machines.

In 2009, 3R will become the official agent for France both for the german company RATEC, the company who invented magnet systems used in precasting, and for CAAB , one of the European leader in the production of precasting moulds and T-beams carrousels.
